Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) statements have become a popular requirement for many applications at the university level and for many industry positions.
Looking at most of the samples below, one thing you may notice is that diversity can be in a multitude of ways outside considerations on race, gender, or socioeconomic status, but could also include religion, age, academic preparedness, disability, gender expression, or other differences in the society.
Another important consideration is to make sure you not only talk about your experiences or achievements with the diverse groups stated above but also include statements on how you'd strive to continue the DEI principles as you go about your duties in the new position.
